Bye bye beautiful

"Dark Passion Play" es el sexto disco de estudio de los finlandeses Nightwish, y "Bye Bye Beautiful" es la segunda canción del disco, que será lanzado también como cuarto single del mismo (el mes que viene).

En octubre de 2005, la que fuera la cantante del grupo, Tarja Turunen, fue expulsada de Nightwish por pretender acaparar la imagen del grupo.
Fue Anette Olzon, previamente la cantante de "Alyson Avenue", la que entró en Nightwish como nueva cantante.

El tema del cambio de cantante ha traído bastantes desavenencias, con gente que prefería a Tarja y gente que cree que han salido ganando con Anette.
Las comparaciones son odiosas y obviamente, las tesituras vocales de ambas son bastante diferentes, y nos habíamos acostumbrado a oír a Nightwish con la voz tan peculiar de Tarja.
Lo cual no significa que Anette sea peor o mejor, símplemente diferente. Nightwish sigue sonando a Nightwish, sólo que con otra voz.

En "Bye Bye Beautiful" se representa una despedida a Tarja. Según palabras de su compositor, Tuomas Holopainen, es una forma de decirle adiós, sin rencores...

En la gira del disco, Bye Bye Beautiful suele ser una apertura habitual en sus actuaciones.
