Aerials

"Swimming through the void, we hear the word, we lose ourselves, but we find it all", vamos nadando por la vida (que llama "vacío") y oímos lo que hay a nuestro alrededor, pero no lo escuchamos.

"'Cause we are the ones that want to play, always want to go, but you never want to stay.", siempre queremos algo, nos esforzamos por conseguir aquello que queremos, pero cuando lo conseguimos, no nos satisface y queremos algo más. Nos pasamos la vida persiguiendo algo.

"And we are the ones that want to choose, always want to play, but you never want to lose.", queremos poder elegir pero no tenemos la opción, queremos "jugar" pero no queremos pagar las consecuencias de no obtener lo que queremos. Estamos atrapados en nuestros deseos.

"Aerials, in the sky. When you lose small mind you free your life."

"Aerials, in the sky", "Aerials, so up high.", la realidad está completamente fuera de nuestro alcance.

 Life is a waterfall,
 We're one in the river,
And one again after the fall.

 Swimming through the void
 We hear the word,
 We lost ourselves,
 But we find it all.

'Cause we are the ones that want to play,
 Always want to go,
But you never want to stay,

And we are the ones that want to choose,
 Always want to play,
But you never want to lose.

 Aerials, in the sky,
 When you lose small mind,
 You free your life.

 Life is a waterfall,
 We drink from the river,
Then we turn around and put up our walls.

 Swimming through the void
 We hear the word,
 We lost ourselves,
 But we find it all.

'Cause we are the ones that want to play,
 Always want to go,
But you never want to stay,

And we are the ones that want to choose,
 Always want to play,
But you never want to lose.

 Aerials, in the sky,
 When you lose small mind,
 You free your life.
 Aerials, so up high,
 When you free your eyes,
 Eternal prize.
 Aerials, in the sky,
 When you lose small mind,
 You free your life.
 Aerials, so up high,
 When you free your eyes,
 Eternal prize.

The pretender

Keep you in the dark you know they all pretend
Keep you in the dark and so it all began
 Send in your skeletons
Sing as their bones go marching in again
 They need you buried deep
The secrets that you keep are ever ready
 Are you ready?
 I'm finished making sense
Done pleading ignorance... that whole defense

 It's been an infinity, oh
 The wheel is spinning me
 It's never ending
 Never ending
 Same old story

What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place?
 You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place?
 You're the pretender
What if I say that I'll never surrender?

In time or so I'm told
I'm just another soul for sale
 Oh well
The page is out of print
 We are not permanent
 We're temporary
 Temporary
 Same old story

What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place?
 You're the pretender
What if I say that I'll never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place?
 You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?

I'm the voice inside your head
 You refuse to hear
I'm the face that you have to face
 Mirroring your stare
 I'm what's left
 I'm what's right
 I'm the enemy
I'm the hand that'll take you down
 Bring you to your knees

 So who are you?
 Yeah who are you?
 Yeah who are you?
 Yeah who are you?

Keep you in the dark you know they all pretend

What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place?
 You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place?
 You're the pretender
What if I say that I'll never surrender?

(Keep you in the dark you know they all pretend)
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place?
 You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?
(Keep you in the dark you know they all pretend)
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place?
 You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?

 So who are you?
 Yeah who are you?
 Yeah who are you?

Broken

I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph, I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you've gone away

The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
There's so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you've gone away

'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you've gone away

Self esteem

Tema:  Self Esteem  Artista:  The Offspring
 Álbum:  Smash  Año:  1994
I wrote her off for the tenth time today
And practiced all the things I would say
 But she came over
 I lost my nerve
I took her back and made her dessert

Now I know I'm being used
That's okay man cause I like the abuse
I know she's playing with me
That's okay cause I've got no self esteem

We make plans to go out at night
I wait till 2 then I turn out the light
All this rejection's got me so low
If she keeps it up I just might tell her so

When she's saying that she wants only me
Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends
When she's saying that I'm like a disease
Then I wonder how much more I can spend
Well I guess I should stick up for myself
But I really think it's better this way
 The more you suffer
The more it shows you really care
 Right?

Now I'll relate this a little bit
That happens more than I'd like to admit
Late at night she knocks on my door
Drunk again and looking to score
Now I know I should say no
But that's kind of hard when she's ready to go
 I may be dumb
 But I'm not a dweeb
I'm just a sucker with no self esteem

When she's saying that she wants only me
Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends
When she's saying that I'm like a disease
Then I wonder how much more I can spend
Well I guess I should stick up for myself
But I really think it's better this way
 The more you suffer
The more it shows you really care
 Right?
