"Self Esteem" es la octava canción de "Smash", tercer disco de The Offspring.
En mi humilde opinión, "Smash" es el mejor disco de Offspring y "Self Esteem", que fue el segundo single del disco después de "Come Out and Play", ha sido la canción más representativa del grupo, con la que más exitos han alcanzado y, posiblemente, la más conocida por el público en general.
La canción habla de una relación de pareja en la que el chico se deja pisotear por falta de auto estima.
Se llegó a creer que era una canción auto biográfica del cantante, Dexter Holland, pero no es cierto.
Tampoco hay mucho más que añadir, no se trata de una letra complicada que trate de decir algo por debajo de lo que realmente parece decir, dice lo que parece que dice, es bastante directa. Tal vez sea uno de puntos fuertes, junto con la energía con que está tocada.
